The beautiful Tamar Valley can be discovered by car, train or by taking a cruise on the Tamar River. There are also many rewarding walks through a network of local footpaths. Launceston offers the traveler a plethora of activities; this city poses historic buildings, appealing gardens, a Casino and fine dining. Launceston, the second largest city in Tasmania, has numerous outstanding Bed and Breakfast properties and several appealing B&B’s along the Tamar River as you make your way north to George Town. The famous Tamar Valley wine route has over 20 cellar doors tastings, many provide gourmet food. There are various pubs, restaurants and boutique shops scattered throughout the Tamar Valley, it is truly a great area for a touring and B&B experience.
