Bellarine Peninsula

Geelong is a big city with the relaxed atmosphere of a small seaside village. Corio Bay has a modern waterfront precinct with a "coffee and gourmet food" area which would rival Carlton's Lygon Street eateries. Less than an hour's drive from Melbourne's CBD, Geelong is a great holiday destination - a long-time favourite of Melbournians. For wine lovers, there are excellent wineries set amongst spectacular scenery. Activities include swimming, kayaking, hiking and golfing. There are many appealing seaside towns within close proximity to Geelong, which have family-friendly sandy beaches. Don't miss the largest Adventure Park in Australia which caters for all ages, open from November through to end of April. The towns of Barwon Heads, Portarlington, Point Lonsdale, Ocean Grove, Jan Juc, Torquay and Queenscliff all offer their own unique beaches and shops. Regardless of the time of year, there is always time to explore the Bellarine Peninsula - the gateway to Victoria's most famous drive "The Great Ocean Road".
