Located in a small village that is surrounded by farmland at the base of the Macedon Ranges.
Approaching the Macedon Ranges along the Calder Freeway from Melbourne, the village of New Gisborne is a handy base for exploring the region, including Mt Macedon, Hanging Rock, Woodend and Romsey. And after a busy day of sightseeing and winery visits you'll love returning to the pristine luxury of your own private cottage. Enjoy a cottage all to yourself or come with friends and take a two-bedroom cottage or book both Lavender and Birch Cottage for their shared al fresco courtyard.
The Mews Cottages - your gateway to the Macedon Ranges.
This cluster of cottages was built as recently as 2005, so they meet all the modern lifestyle design expectations at the same time as having the romantic external appeal of a traditional country cottage. Lavender and Birch Cottage, which have a distinct Victorian era cottage appeal, sport light grey painted weatherboards with crisp white trim. The two storey Dahlia Cottage is a picture in blue with its white balcony and front fence.
The cottages are equipped with excellent kitchen facilities and bathrooms, designer dining and lounge suites in an open plan living area, and sleek wall-mounted plasma televisions. Each interior is individually styled and furnished.
Dahlia Cottage has a small rear courtyard and a compact pretty front garden. Lavender Cottage and Birch Cottage, although separate and each self-contained, are nestled together and they share a beautifully landscaped courtyard with romantic iron chairs and a stone table. Each has french doors to access the area. For three couples travelling together it makes perfect sense to reserve these two cottages.
The location of The Mews Cottages can hold special appeal for visitors to Victoria who wish to have easy access to the city of Melbourne, as well as country Victoria, without moving from place to place. From here you are a 30-minute drive from Tullamarine Airport; you are walking distance to the train station for a 50-minute train trip to Melbourne avoiding city traffic hassles; and, you can just as easily tour the whole of the central goldfields and mineral springs spa country of Victoria.
