Property Description

In a typically beautiful Dandenongs garden of rhododendrons, ferns and Japanese maples, you will find this enchanting and romantic accommodation. The self-contained cottages are all free standing and nestled into private pockets of the property while retaining a village-like atmosphere. Heritage colours and the simple, distinctive architecture, characteristic of the 'Hills' (Dandenongs), renders an engaging, 'bygone era' feel to the place. Just stroll through the garden and you'll come across old curios and even an old red telephone box - with a working phone!

Inside each of the cosy private cottages, there's plenty more old-world character - but definitely not the 'lace and doily' kind. However, you will find period furniture and antique, cast iron farmhouse and four-poster style beds with lightweight, sheer canopies. Wood fires, mostly open, are another important romantic feature and you can choose from a deep cast iron claw foot bath (2 cottages) or a double spa (2 cottages). Mills Cottage is two storeys and a favourite for honeymooners.

The cottages at the main site are strictly suitable for couples, but nearby there are another two cottages that can accommodate 4 and 6 guests. The two-bedroom Lavender Cottage is also two storeys making it just as popular with honeymooners even though it can accommodate an extra couple downstairs. Then there's Cotswald, the largest cottage with 3 double bedrooms, as well as a full size kitchen and private garden.
