Harvest House or Dairy House … a Yarra Valley lifestyle of leisure and luxury!
Harvest Farm is a productive 18-acre property. A focus of the farm is a large kitchen garden , there are a few horses, cows, chickens and a small orchard. This is the blissful rural setting for two country homes that have been transformed into beautiful accommodation for 2-4 people each.
Harvest House is a fully restored 1920s farmhouse. Set in its own private garden of oaks, camellias and roses, the farmhouse has been transformed into a picture of provincial charm far more luxurious than its humble origins. Whitewashed surfaces inside and out, including the floors, creates a distinct light, breezy mood. Everything else either blends quietly into the 'whitewashed look' or stands out in bold relief, like the rich chocolate suede couch, deep blue bedding accents, the bright colours of the fresh flowers inside and the landscape outside.
The open plan living room features a romantic wood fire and French doors onto a terrace dining area. The front of the house has a big, old-fashioned country porch to while away the afternoon enjoying views of pastureland against a mountain backdrop. Beautiful details and luxury fittings are evident throughout the rooms, including king size beds and a spa bathroom.
Dairy House is located behind Harvest House in a garden setting of its own. The styling uses the same fundamentals - lots of fresh white surfaces, furnished with provincial character. A large deck at the back, just above ground level, enjoys mountain views framed by beautiful trees. As well as the living room opening onto the deck, the large spa bathroom also has sliding glass doors to the deck.
The houses are readied for guests with masses of flowers from the garden, handmade local soap and fresh ground coffee and tea leaves.
Guests are free to wander through the produce garden and talk to the gardener as he tends the plot. Fresh herbs and free-range eggs may be collected to consume during your stay.
Equipment is provided for informal games of petanque, cricket, frisbee and badminton that can be played on vast sprawling grassed areas.
